Gulf Teacher Forum

International Conference on The Teaching Profession (2026)

"Sustainable Education in the Age of AI"

Gulf Teacher Forum

The Gulf Teacher Forum focuses on enhancing the research competencies of teachers in the Arab Gulf countries by highlighting Action Research as an exceptionally reliable research methodology for investigating the field-based educational reality, and for analyzing and developing all its components. Based on the growing recognition of the teacher's value as a cornerstone in leading and managing the educational process, the forum emphasizes the importance of involving teachers from the Arab Gulf countries in conducting Action Research to explore the realities of their educational environments and to highlight outstanding educational experiences.

This is achieved by providing teachers with opportunities – through specialized educational and scientific platforms – to produce field-based research knowledge and to discuss academic papers on various educational issues. As a result, they become more influential in the educational field, better able to master professional competencies, and more effective in exchanging practical experiences with their colleagues.

In line with the theme of the International Conference on The Teaching Profession "Sustainable Education in the Age of AI", the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) organizes the Gulf Teacher Forum as part of the second day's activities of the conference. The forum is based on the conference's sub-themes to support member States' directions toward educational sustainability and the optimal use of AI in the educational context.

The forum aims to be an educational platform that encourages teachers to conduct field-based, peer-reviewed action research. It also provides outstanding teachers with the opportunity to present their experiences, insights, and educational practices derived from such research. These contributions are enriched through discussion in a space dedicated to specialized scientific dialogue and the exchange of experiences that enhance teachers' professional development.

Objectives of the Forum

  • Encourage teachers to conduct peer-reviewed action research studies related to sustainable education and applications of AI, grounded in local field realities.
  • Highlight and publish successful experiences of teachers in integrating educational sustainability and AI in classrooms.
  • Build an applied knowledge base that supports decision-making in member States to serve educational policies within the context of sustainable education.
